Meg Winterburn – police sergeant who runs the Incident Room.  20s to 30s.
Tish Morgan – reporter on the Yorkshire Post. Pushy. Late 20s
Sylvia Swanson – police admin staff. Wise-cracking. 40s/50s
Andrew Laptew – uniformed cop who gets promoted to CID. Keen. Mid to late 20s
Dick Holland – deputy senior investigating officer. Warm.  40s
George Oldfield – senior investigating officer. Under pressure. 50s.
Jim Hobson – detective in charge of the operation to match tyre-prints. Frustrated. 40s
Jack Ridgway – head of Manchester CID. Late 30s
Terence Hawskhaw – taxi driver. Bit of a lad. 30s. Cameo.
Maureen Long – survives an attack by Peter Sutcliffe.  40/50s

Synopsis

A drama taking us to the heart of one of the biggest manhunts in British history is returning to the Liverpool stage, taking us to 1970s Leeds and the Millgarth incident room, the epicentre of the search for the Yorkshire Ripper.
